Five-star flight

The National Museum of Flight is celebrating its new status as a five-star visitor attraction.

The award under the VisitScotland Quality Assurance Scheme, recognises the recent significant developmenst at the historic East Fortune airfield: the Fantastic Flight, Fortunes of War, The Jet Age and Parachute Store exhibitions, together with the Airfield Explorer, new assault course and enhancement to the shop, cafe and signage have helped gain the sought-after fifth star.

Grant Mackenzie, General Manager, says:

"Our continous efforts to improve every aspect of our operations has led to the Museum achieving consistently positive feedback from visitors.  It is fantastic to get official recognition from VisitScotland of the high standards we have established."

VisitScotland called the Museum "an asset for Scotland" commenting that it represented tremendous value for money for visitors, thanks to the range of exhibitions and activities on offer.  The consistently high levels of visitor care were also praised.

Grant concludes:

"Credit must go to all our Visitor Operations staff.  Their team spirit, together with their continued hard work and passion for the Museum has added significantly to the whole visitor experience."
