Shopping at the Museum
Each of the Museums has a shop reflecting its collections and
including specially commissioned replicas of items on display.
Each shop has a selection of gifts from pocket money toys to
hand-crafted scarves, glass and designer jewellery. A complementary
range of books for both adults and children completes a unique
shopping experience.
Museum shops
The museum shop in Chambers Street is located on the ground
floor entrance to the National Museum of Scotland. The shop has a
wide range of quality products, many of them commissioned and
exclusive to the museum. For example a quaich, a quintessential
Scottish welcoming cup, has inspired a range of products. Crafted
in pewter, it remains true to the original and would make a highly
desirable gift that would be treasured for years to come.
Other museum shops are to be found at the National Museum of Flight in East Lothian, the
National War Museum at Edinburgh Castle,
the National Museum of Rural Life at
East Kilbride and the National Museum of
Costume at Shambellie House, New Abbey.
The museum shops are open to non-museum visitors.
