National Treasures on Display at Expo 2010

The National Museum of Scotland is Scotland’s treasure house. The Victorian part of this much-loved Museum is undergoing a £46-million transformation, re-opening summer 2011. Join us at VisitScotland Expo 2010 (Stand K17, SECC, Glasgow, 14-15 April) for a sneak peek and a chance to win a fantastic prize in our business card draw.

The Royal Museum Project will transform the National Museum of Scotland site in Chambers Street, Edinburgh, into a 21st-century museum experience. The Project will create high quality, welcoming visitor facilities,16 new galleries with thousands of new objects on display, a larger gallery for international touring exhibitions, state-of-the-art learning facilities, improved street-level access and new high-quality eating and shopping facilities.

The revitalised Museum will showcase Scotland’s collections to a national and international audience, raising the nation’s cultural profile and reflecting the confidence of a modern Scotland.

Jane Ferguson, Head of Marketing and Communications at National Museums Scotland, said:

“Expo is the perfect platform for us showcase the revitalised National Museum of Scotland to potential buyers from around the globe and colleagues in the tourism and culture sectors. We are looking forward to revealing aspects of this amazing new visitor experience.”
