Medieval corn-drying kiln

Above: Reconstruction of the kiln in use. It
dates to about 1300 -1500 AD, and was part of a small village
overlying the Iron Age site. It is shaped like a keyhole, with a
fire at one end and a clay dome at the other. The heat passed into
the dome and dried the grain.
