The group explored the Sikh collections at the Museum, including
paintings by the Singh Twins and the Maharajah Duleep Singh
material. Women from the Sikh community worked with the girls to
explore heritage issues, and throughout the year they used dance,
digital media, music and song writing to interpret their
discoveries.
The project resulted in a final performance called Desi
Pardesi: A story of Diwali for our times which was showcased
at North Edinburgh Arts Centre and the National Museum of
Scotland.
The project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Young Roots
fund.
