If so, you’ll have seen Wheels of Time, an exhibition to
showcase the work done by the Rural and Urban Transport
Scheme (RUTS) participants.

RUTS uses motorcycles as a way of engaging with young people who
are excluded from formal education.
The group’s intention was to use the museum's collections as
inspiration for their research work. However, they were given a
unique opportunity to help restore a 1920s 225cc Triumph Junior
motorcycle. This involved complex stripping down, recording,
checking and re-assembling the motorcycle both at the National
Museum Collection Centre at Granton
in Edinburgh, and at RUTS' headquarters in
Midlothian.

Originally on display in the National Museum of Scotland, the
results of their hard work have now been transferred to
Glasgow.
Funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots
programme.
