School visits at National Museum of Flight

Here we answer your questions about visiting the National Museum of Flight with your school group.

Is there parking for our bus / minibus?

There is dedicated, free coach parking on-site.

Is there a space to leave our bags and jackets?

There is a cloakroom in the Education Centre.

Where can we eat our lunch?

There is a bookable space in the Education Centre. Please ask us when you book your visit.

Is the space we will be visiting fully accessible?

All spaces are accessible except on board the aeroplanes and the mezzanine floor in Hangar 1.

Do you have a risk assessment we can use?

There are guidelines for teachers to help you write your own risk assessment.

Teachers can make a free pre-visit to carry out their risk assessment.

Can I take photographs?

Yes.

Safety guidelines

All visitors should have sensible outdoor footwear and clothing.

Please take care when crossing roads. Cross all roads on site as though they were public roads.

Please do not run in the buildings or climb on the outside of them.

Please stay on the marked walkways in the hangars.

Is there a shop / café?

Yes, but please check availability when you make your booking. We take schools all year round but are closed to the public on weekdays between November and March. We cannot guarantee that the café or shop will be open during this period. (please ensure there is a ratio of 1 adult to 10 children when in shop).
