National Fund for Acquisitions

Each year, around 100 acquisitions are added to Scotland’s collections through funding from the National Fund for Acquisitions (NFA).

Museums, galleries, libraries, archives and record offices all benefit from this funding. You can apply to the NFA for assistance with a purchase if you meet the fund guidelines.

The National Museums Scotland manages the Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. Grant applications are processed in consultation with our specialist staff, the National Galleries of Scotland and the National Library of Scotland. We work together to promote the fund, its activity and benefits to users of Scotland’s collections.
