Information for visitors with disabilities

Admission

Disabled visitors pay a concession price for admission, and your accompanying carer is free.

There is free parking.

Facilities

An accessible toilet and baby changing facilities are available from the tearoom in the basement section of the House. Standard toilets and baby changing facilities can be found in the car park. There is one unadapted toilet situated on the first floor of the house.

Access

The route from the main roadside car park to the house is steep. If you have walking difficulties please enter the main drive by the lodge and bring your car to the parking bays at the front entrance of the house.

The tearoom, in the basement, is accessible by a side door. There is a ramp and wheelchair lift at the main entrance to the house. The ground floor of the museum is accessible by wheelchair. However, the first floor can only be accessed via stairs.

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other recognised assistance dogs are all admitted.
