Children at the National Museum of Scotland

Visiting with children

Families and children of all ages are welcome at the National Museum of Costume.

Facilities and access

The National Museum of Costume enjoys some level access and a wheelchair lift to the ground floor. Our free on-site car park provides easy access to the Museum.

Please ask our visitor services assistants at the ticket desk about leaving pushchairs and buggies.

Baby changing facilities are available within a unisex toilet.

The National Museum of Costume has trained first aiders on duty and a policy is in place if children become separated from their party.

Eating and drinking

Children are welcome in the tearoom and there is a special children's menu, with high chairs available.

Our stunning wooded grounds also offer an ideal picnic area which is popular with families of all ages.

You can find out more about our tearoom here.

Activities for children

We provide a number of activities especially for children and an exciting events calendar for all ages. You can find out what's on here.
