Handy hints and tips
Handy hints and tips to make the most of your day out at the
Airshow at National Museum of Flight, East Fortune on
Saturday 27 July 2013.
Before the Airshow
- What if I lose my tickets? Tickets are
non-refundable and non-transferable. Customers who have lost their
tickets will have to purchase replacement tickets.
- Do you have to be a family to buy a family
ticket? You don't have to be related to gain entry on a
Family Ticket - it admits up to 2 adults and 2 children whether you
are related or not. A Child ticket is for children between 5-15
years. Children 0-4 years are free. 16+ is considered to be an
adult.
- What is the line up this year? On the ground and in the air there is something
for everyone.
- How do I book a wheelchair? To secure the
use of a manual wheelchair at the Airshow contact St Andrew's
First Aid on 0131 229 5419 (numbers are limited).
Getting there
- Directions - you can find a map and directions to the site here.
- Coming by public transport? - A FREE shuttle bus service (operated by Prentice
Coaches) runs from outside North Berwick Station to the Airshow.
The bus operates on a loop all day. An additional service will run
in the morning and afternoon from Haddington to the Airshow, more
details here.
- No dogs please - dogs (other than
assistance dogs) are not allowed on site so leave Fido at
home.
- Driving? Signs will direct you to the car
park. The car park opens at 8:30am and costs £4 per vehicle.
Priority parking is available for disabled visitors.
On arrival
- Disabled parking - Blue Badges should
clearly be displayed in order for personnel to direct you to the
forward parking area. Disabled visitors can make use of an
enclosure on the flight line at the Airshow. This is on hard
standing but not covered. Carers are welcome to bring seating.
Due to space limitations, only one car per disabled visitor can
access the enclosure. A shuttle service will be available to
take blue badge holders from the forward parking area into the
Airshow ground. There are no cars allowed in the
enclosure.
- Information point - On arrival there is an
information point and programme booth just inside the Show’s
entrance on the left hand side (next to the Rotary Clubs Wristband
Scheme marquee - see below).
- Airshow programme - you'll find a map and full
guide to the show in the official programme, available for
£4.50.
- Airshow site map (located at the site
entrance and throughout the site) also shows you all the
attractions and the timings of the displays.
- Worried about becoming separated from your
children? On entrance to the Show pop into the Rotary
Clubs’ marquee (Rotary Clubs of Tranent, Longniddry, Haddington and
North Berwick) and collect free wristbands from them. Complete with
your mobile phone number and attach to your child’s wrist.
- Separated from your group? It's a good idea to
pre-arrange a meeting point at the Show in case you get separated
from family and friends - this could be the Information Booth.
During the day
- Opening times - the Airshow ground is open

highlighted on the Show Map, please bring your own supply of

puchased and consumed in the licensed areas.

weather, feel free to bring your own seating or waterproof rugs to
sit on when watching the air display.
- Sunny weather - make sure you are protected
from the sun (especially children) because we have decided it is
going to be a gorgeous and beautiful day... we hope. It's
also a good idea to drink plenty of fluids, even if you're not
thirsty. Please note we do not sell suncream on site.

from the aircraft noise you can purchase earplugs from the
Museum Shop beside the Concorde Hangar. Please note ear
