The RV8tors aerobatic display team

A welcome return to the RV8tors exciting aerobatic display at the Airshow at National Museum of Flight on Saturday 28 July 2012.

Flying high with the RV8tors

Flying with their remarkably fast Vans RV-8's with powerful smoke systems, the RV8tors perform an exciting and memorable display. The RV-8 is a high performance, aerobatic, 2 seat homebuilt kit aircraft.  Over 7,500 of these affordable aircraft are flying worldwide. The RV8tors provide a 'big' display, combining close formation aerobatics with speeds of up to 370 km/h.

RV8tor pilots

The pilots, Alister and Andy have a vast amount of formation and aerobatic experience, with over 20,00 hours of flying time between them.  Alister Key has been a display pilot for 25 years. He has been UK Gliding Champion on eight occasions and has held numerous gliding records including a climb to 11,125 metres.

National Museums Scotland is not responsible for the content of this video but it has been selected as it is relevant to the Airshow at the National Museum of Flight, East Fortune.

Andy Hill is an ex RAF Harrier instructor and renowned formation and advanced flying instructor.  He displays other aircraft and is a light aircraft test pilot and also teaches aerobatics and air-combat manoeuvres. Andy and his wife Ellie took two years to build their RV-8. Both are airline captains with over 12,000 flying hours.
