Farm explorer and sheep

Explore outside

The sights, sounds and smells of Wester Kittochside Farm give you a real sense of life in the countryside as it used to be.

1950s style farming

Farming still carries on today at Wester Kittochside but the farm is run according to agricultural methods and practices of the 1950s. To get to the farm follow the path from the museum through the green, open fields or jump aboard our Farm Explorer. On your way you'll pass sheep grazing and maybe see Mairi our Clydesdale horse and our mischevious Tamworth pigs. You may even be in time to see our Ayrshire cows being milked.

Tour our period farmhouse for a sense of what living on a farm was really like more than 50 years ago.  With each season there's always something fresh to see, from newborn lambs and calves to harvesting and haymaking.  To get an idea of what's in store for you, have look at our farm slideshow - just click on the images below.
