Ayrshire cows

Prize bulls

Breeding policy

We do not work with live bulls as they are renowned for their aggressive nature but work with Artificial Insemination which gives better management of a strict breeding policy.

The main aim of the breeding policy is to attain and maintain the traditional 100% pedigree Ayrshire. The farm produces all dairy replacements which are introduced into the milking herd from theree years of age.

Some of the cows used to establish the herd were from the prestigious Pant lineage. In 2009 year the male line the, 'Stamford Triple Threat' was being used. The cattle are classified yearly and from this it can be decided which pure bred bulls to use to improve the breed.
