Bionic hand

Bionic hand

Lucy Harland writes about this i-Limb hand from Touch Bionics, on display in the Scotland: A Changing Nation gallery on Level 6.

Hand for the Future

i have
no past.

i was never
buried
lost
or treasured.

i will never
sew a suit
pluck a string
stroke a cheek

but nor will i
lift a gun
chain a slave
flinch in pain.

i am here
as a message to the future,
selected and collected
to speak about the present.

Will the future understand?

That’s out of my hands.
