Discover some of the nation's most precious possessions alongside the everyday objects that throw light on Scotland through the ages. Some exhibits are millions of years old, others less than a decade.

The modern landmark building that houses our Scottish collections is in the middle of Edinburgh's historic Old Town, just minutes from the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle.

You can take part in lots of activities every day at the Museum. Pick up a Museum Map when you arrive. It tells you what’s on, where and when. You can also check our plasma screens for the same information.
