Before you visit
Thinking of visiting the National Museum of Scotland? Find out

On arrival
You'll find everything you need to start your visit in our new
Entrance Hall. Pick up a museum map to help you find your way
around and check our plasma screens to find out what's on where,
and when. A cloakroom is also available here (£1 per item).
If you have any questions about your visit, the staff at the
Information Desk in the Entrance Hall are happy to help.

our free tours to tap into the boundless knowledge
of our expert guides.
Audio guides for Scottish collections
Prefer to go at your own pace? Multi-lingual audio guides for
the Scottish galleries are available in Hawthornden Court for free.
Audio guides are available in English, French, German, Gaelic,
Spanish or Italian.
Families
The Museum is a great place for children of all ages. From baby
changing facilities to family-friendly places to eat and places to

Food and drink
A selection of delicious food and drinks are available in the
Balcony Café and Museum Brasserie and packed lunches can be eaten
in designated areas. You can find out more about eating at the museum here.
