If you’re lucky enough to look under 25 please have ID ready. If it’s hard to tell we have to ask! As red wine and museum collections don’t mix well, it’s off the menu tonight.

Zone out under the Bulldog plane in the laid-back calm of the South Hall (just through the Discoveries Gallery) with bars, snacks and retro games.

Silent Disco

Sign Up Desk

Sign up for the following free activities here (numbers are limited, so add your name fast!)

Miniature Wonders: Meet Cool Creatures and discover more about the amazing world of invertebrates.

The Original Psychic Challenge: Join Dr Peter Lamont of the University of Edinburgh to discover the origins of psychic phenomena, and try to solve a mystery that has remained unexplained since 1871.

Auditorium Programme

19:30 – Edinburgh Bright Club: The gang are back with a new line-up with the freshest thing in stand-up:  straight from the (research) field to funny.

20:45 – ELECTROKINETIC: A unique, live, body-mapping performance with LEDs by artist Betsy Davis to a live audio mix by Mauricio Escamilla.

As a kinetic work of light, sound and space, a black-clothed performer is unseen whilst all that remains are vivid multi-coloured points of LED light in active motion to the sound and space of the venue. This performance and random sightings around the museum will redefine how the body in motion is seen and experienced.

21:15 – Wish You Were Here? Searching for Exo – Planets: 'Into Deep Space' and 'Close Distance' are short films about life outside the solar system and the planet hunters searching for it. A Scottish Government Science Engagement Grant funded collaboration between Edinburgh College of Art, The Royal Observatory Edinburgh and the Universities of St Andrews and Edinburgh.

Level 2 Events Space

The Fantoosh Art Lab: Your favourite face artists are back with new Wonderland designs to choose from.

Please expect queues for this extremely popular activity – last entry 22:00.
