It’s an al fresco feel tonight so enjoy some seasonal treats.
Try our Glenmorangie cocktail created especially for the night,
grab a bite to eat off the ‘barbie’ and visit our Schiehallion and
Bitter & Twisted beer gardens. Last orders

South Hall, Imagine Gallery & Learning Centre
Chill-out Zone
Zone out under the Bulldog plane in the laid-back calm of the
South Hall (just through the Discoveries Gallery) with bars, snacks
and retro games.
Silent Disco
Back by popular demand! Dance to your own personal beat in the
weirdly wonderful world of the Imagine Gallery. Don a headset,
choose from two Fresh Air
FM DJ sets and pull some shapes under the watchful eye of the
giant Chinese Dragon. Last entry 22:00.

Miniature Wonders: Meet Cool Creatures and discover
more about the amazing world of invertebrates.
The Original Psychic Challenge: Join Dr Peter
Lamont of the University of Edinburgh to discover the origins of
psychic phenomena, and try to solve a mystery that has remained
unexplained since 1871.
Auditorium Programme
19:30 – Edinburgh Bright
Club: The gang are back with a new line-up with the freshest
thing in stand-up: straight from the (research) field to
funny.
20:45 – ELECTROKINETIC: A unique,
live, body-mapping performance with LEDs by artist Betsy
Davis to a live audio mix by Mauricio
Escamilla.
As a kinetic work of light, sound and space, a black-clothed
performer is unseen whilst all that remains are vivid
multi-coloured points of LED light in active motion to the sound
and space of the venue. This performance and random sightings
around the museum will redefine how the body in motion is seen and
experienced.
21:15 – Wish You Were
Here? Searching for Exo – Planets: 'Into
Deep Space' and 'Close Distance' are short films
about life outside the solar system and the planet hunters
searching for it. A Scottish Government Science Engagement Grant
funded collaboration between Edinburgh College of Art, The Royal
Observatory Edinburgh and the Universities of St Andrews and
Edinburgh.

Lab: Your favourite face artists are back with new Wonderland
designs to choose from.

Natural World: Animal Gallery (Level 1)
Red Door Gallery
presents Art Wonderland: An interactive pop-up
exhibition inspired by Alice in Wonderland, featuring a
colouring-in competition and a DIY mural designed by Robbie Porter
with goodie-bag prizes. Follow The White Rabbit to find
us!
Corner Sound present Curios: Layered live
analogue and digital sounds, interspersed with archive and
on-the-night field recordings (19:00 - 20:30).
SNARK Hunters: What is a SNARK? Find out by
taking the constellation challenge in our Earth in Space
gallery and pit your wits against the experts from the University
of Edinburgh and ICMS for a chance to make it onto the leader
board.
World Cultures Galleries (Level 1)
Magic carpet: Find the magic carpet and make a
crown fit for a Queen of Hearts or King of Spades.
Connect Gallery
Fashion Zone: Drop in and check out unique
creations by top young Scottish designer Judy Clark, fabulous hats by
Fabhatrix,
Victorian-inspired accessories from Miss Katie Cupcake and
vintage styling by Miss
Dixiebelle. Roaming fashion show 19.15 –
20.15.
Craft Beer Sipping: Find out about the science
behind what you’re drinking! Meet the master brewers from Harviestoun to hear more about
their craft and sample some tipples. Check the sign for
times.
Museum of Curiosities: Pop on your white gloves
and get up close to a menagerie of weird and wonderful objects from
our collections.
Art and Industry Gallery (Level 1)
Mad Hatter’s Photo Emporium: Meet our resident
Victorian physician Dr Barbour, raid the Mad Hatter’s wardrobe and
pose by some weird and wonderful objects (photos will appear on the
museum’s Flickr page).
Fascinating Mummies Exhibition (Level 3)
A last chance to see this amazing
exhibition after hours (only a limited number of tickets
available to buy on the night). Exhibition Shop open.
To help protect our collections, some galleries are
strictly food- and drink-free zones. There are plenty of tables to
leave your empties on at the entrances and our museum staff are on
hand to help.
Roving Bloggers
Look out for roving photographers and bloggers seeking vox pops
and cool pics for our website. Subtle homages to the Wonderland
