By bus
A number of buses go via the city centre and stop at the Royal
Mile and George IV Bridge. Edinburgh Castle is a few minutes walk

By train
The nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverley. Edinburgh
Castle is a few minutes walk up Market Street to the Castle
Esplanade via either Ramsay Gardens or the Royal Mile. The road is
quite steep, so visitors with mobility difficulties may wish
to use the taxi rank at the station.
By car
Edinburgh Castle is at the top of the Royal Mile, minutes from
Princes Street and Edinburgh City Centre. There is no parking at
the Castle. However, a limited number of spaces for Blue Badge
holders are available. These must be booked in advance on 0131
310 5114.
There is an NCP car park at the back of the Castle on Johnston

By cycle
