Meet the team

Meet the architects and designers working on the redevelopment of the National Museum of Scotland.

Architects

Gareth Hoskins Architects (GHA) is a multi award-winning architectural and design practice, based in Scotland. Their innovative and people-focussed designs have resulted in a wide range of prominent projects throughout the UK.

GHA’s work ranges from high profile public projects such as the architecture galleries at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Culloden Battlefield visitor centre in the Highlands, the new visitor facilities at Edinburgh Castle, the Mackintosh Gallery at Glasgow's Lighthouse Centre to community-based projects like the award-winning Bridge Arts Centre in Glasgow.

Exhibition design

Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) plan, design, and produce award-winning museum exhibitions, visitor centres, and educational environments. Subject areas range from natural history and the physical sciences, to cultural, social and corporate history, sports and the fine arts.

The firm is best known for large-scale, permanent museum projects marrying complex educational content with physical environments that are both compelling and smoothly operational.
Notable projects in the UK include London’s Transport Museum, the world music gallery at the Horniman Museum in London and the Culloden Battlefield Memorial Project.
