Building works advance apace on Chambers Street
From the outside it may appear that not much is changing in the
Royal Museum, but inside there’s plenty going on.
Repairs to the stonework in the West Wing stair have now been
completed, and contractors Balfour Beatty are making good progress
with the main building works and are on programme for completion by
December 2010.

Meanwhile, it’s all systems go for the new galleries, as the RMP
team prepare for the installation of the new exhibition spaces,
while the gallery teams are already writing the first text to
accompany the objects.
But if 2011 still seems a long way away to you, remember you can
get a taster of the new Museum by visiting our Treasured exhibition at the National Museum of
Scotland, and by checking out our Object of
the Month.
