Catherine the Great: An Enlightened Empress is sponsored by

This spectacular
exhibition, developed in partnership with The State Hermitage
Museum, St Petersburg and sponsored by Baillie Gifford, celebrates
the 250th anniversary of Catherine the Great’s ascension to the
Russian throne. The National Museum of Scotland will be the only UK
venue to showcase this exhibition. As one of the greatest art
collectors of all time, Catherine the Great’s collections reflect
both the personal and political ambitions of a woman who put Russia
on the cultural map of Europe.
