Donations and legacies
By making a donation you can help the National Museums Scotland
to deliver a world class museum service.
As a recognised charity we are immensely grateful for all
donations, no matter how large or small.
Donated funds are received by the National Museums Scotland
Charitable Trust (Charity No: SC 6964). They make a real difference
to our work and are crucial to the success of projects such as:
- Educational programmes for schools, families and adults
- Outreach projects working with communities throughout
Scotland
- The purchase of new items for the collections
- Important conservation and research work.
Please Gift Aid your donation
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows you to increase the
value of your gift without paying a penny more.
Simply by filling in the Gift Aid declaration on the donation
form or by letting us know when you donate over the phone, you can
make your donation tax efficient without incurring any extra
cost.
Gift Aid enables us to reclaim tax that you have already paid at
basic rate through income tax or capital gains tax. For
every £1 you give, we can claim an additional 28p from the
Inland Revenue.
So, for example, if you donated £10, we would receive an
additional £2.80 from the government.
You can find out more about Gift Aid
here.
