Formed in summer 2015 we now meet regularly, every second Monday, in the museum to plan activities and events for other young people in the museum. So far we have created our own tours and activities, ran our own event Party with the Past and we have so many more ideas. Watch this space to keep up to date with news of our latest events.
Alan is 19 years old and he joined the Young Demonstrators as it stops him from getting bored. He thinks the project is interesting and it gives him something else to do apart from college and sitting in the house.
Rachel loves coming to the museum as it gives her the chance to develop her understanding of artefacts which have come from all around the world. As a Young Demonstrator she can share this enthusiasm with others.
Sarah is really interested in history so the museum gives her loads of opportunities to learn something new. “Being part of Young Demonstrators gives me the chance to allow other young people to appreciate the museum as much as I do.”
Elle joined the Museum’s Young Demonstrators team to get out of the house and be active. She wants to learn more about history and the museum and to get other young people involved in the museum.
James, upon joining the museums Young Demonstrators, realised that it was one of the greatest decisions ever. Like a Roman conquering Greece or Nelson’s ships in water he has enjoyed every minute of it and will enjoy all the seconds to come.
Katherine has been a Young Demonstrators since the beginning. She joined the group for a new experience and continues to go as it gives her the chance to learn outwith school.
Austin has been visiting the museum for as long as he can remember and has decided to give something back by joining the Young Demonstrators.
Samantha is very passionate about learning history and where artefacts come from. Since joining she has developed her teamwork skills and has enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm for the museum with others.
Grace is fascinated by anything historical and the objects within the museum. She is also interested in finding out what it takes to run some of the events that she has enjoyed over the years at the museum.
Ceri joined the Young Demonstrators to get experience working within the museum and to try and share her enthusiasm for history with others!
