Hi! We are the Young Demonstrators, the National Museum of Scotland’s youth team. Aged 14-22 we come from a variety of backgrounds but we all have one thing in common – we love the museum and want to help other young people discover the amazing things it has to offer.

Young demonstrators

Formed in summer 2015 we now meet regularly, every second Monday, in the museum to plan activities and events for other young people in the museum. So far we have created our own tours and activities, ran our own event Party with the Past and we have so many more ideas. Watch this space to keep up to date with news of our latest events.

Who are we?

  • Alan is 19 years old and he joined the Young Demonstrators as it stops him from getting bored. He thinks the project is interesting and it gives him something else to do apart from college and sitting in the house.

  • Rachel loves coming to the museum as it gives her the chance to develop her understanding of artefacts which have come from all around the world. As a Young Demonstrator she can share this enthusiasm with others.
