Description

Mummification was something very important to ancient Egyptians as it was only through this process that you could enter the afterlife. In this session, pupils will discover some of the objects that would be used in the process, as well as items ancient Egyptians might have taken with them to the afterlife. During the session, there will be simple activities that you can do with your class, the opportunity to ask questions and see some real ancient Egyptian artefacts.

Teachers, please note that as part of the session, there will be an image showing a coffin with a mummified person inside. Death will also be mentioned during the session, so please bear this in mind for any pupils who may need prior warning.
