How should I prepare my pupils for this workshop?

Pupils will be working in four groups during the workshop. Please assign one adult per group. Smaller classes may work in smaller numbers of groups.

Download your invite from Hedjet the Hippo here to use with your class before your visit. This will introduce the workshop and the character to them. She also appears in our ancient Egypt gallery trail sheet.

What will we do in the workshop?

Hedjet the Hippo, assisted by our Learning Enabler, will lead your pupils on an adventure to the coronation of a new pharaoh. Pupils will become part of the story by seeing, smelling and handling a range of objects from the marketplace, a temple and the River Nile, to find out more about daily life in ancient Egypt.

You can download a visual timetable here.
