The National Fund for Acquisitions (NFA) helps museums, galleries, libraries and archives throughout Scotland to make acquisitions for their collections. National Museums Scotland manages the Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government.
Special Funding Scheme
We've launched a Special Funding Scheme to help museums who are struggling to raise match funding for acquisitions.

About the Fund

Grant applications are processed in consultation with our specialist staff, the National Galleries of Scotland and the National Library of Scotland. We work together to promote the Fund, its activity and benefits to users of Scotland’s collections.

In 2022-23 the Fund made 50 payments with a total value of £204,219, enabling 31 collections across Scotland to make acquisitions worth over £700,000.
