National Museums Scotland manages the Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. Grant applications are processed in consultation with our specialist staff, the National Galleries of Scotland and the National Library of Scotland. We work together to promote the Fund, its activity and benefits to users of Scotland’s collections.
In 2015-16 the Fund made 67 payments to 27 organisations across Scotland. The overall purchase value of the objects was £1,074,221, almost double the figure for the previous year. This is the first time the total value of acquisitions supported by the NFA has exceeded £1 million. You can apply to the NFA for assistance with a purchase if you meet the Fund guidelines.
Before applying, we first recommend that you download and read the Guidance for Applicants.
