To celebrate our current exhibition Beyond the Little Black Dress, we’re offering the chance to win a copy of the exhibition book Little Black Dress: A Radical Fashion plus a pair of tickets to the exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland.
The competition closes at 17:00 on Monday 11 September. The winner will be picked at random and notified via email.
Edited by Georgina Ripley, the exhibition book, Little Black Dress: A Radical Fashion, seeks to widen the lens through which we interpret the colour black. It brings together international scholars, curators and fashion writers, exploring how black’s paradoxical meanings have made the little black dress simultaneously expressive of respect and rebellion, sophistication and dissident sexualities, piety and perversion.
From design classics to cutting-edge catwalk creations, Beyond the Little Black Dress deconstructs this iconic garment and examines the radical power of the colour black in fashion. The exhibition runs at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh until 29 October 2023.
