Louise Innes is Principal Curator of Transport.

Louise InnesLouise is responsible for the transport collections covering land, sea and air. These broad ranging collections include highlights such as Concorde G-BOAA, JB Dunlop’s first pneumatic tyre and Robert Wilson’s experimental ship-propulsion model.

She has particular expertise in cycle history, the Scottish car industry and Scottish railway infrastructure. Her most recent publication is Scottish Bicycles and Tricycles.

Louise is an accomplished glider pilot with knowledge of the history of silent flight. She also has a particular interest in pioneering women in the field of transport and industry. Louise is secretary to the International Association of Transport and Communication Museums, a member of the Railway Heritage Designation Advisory Board and a board member at Scottish Fisheries Museum.
