BSL Tour: Roman Scotland

Join tour guide, Babs Brown, for a Deaf-led tour of 'Roman Scotland: Life on the Edge of Empire' delivered in British Sign Language.

Find out more about the military communities of Rome’s most northern frontier in this BSL tour. Encounter objects and stories that bring these vibrant and diverse community to life and learn how locals in this occupied land found ways to deal with the invading groups.

The tour will last around one hour with the chance to explore the exhibition independently afterwards.

On the day

• Please meet the tour guide at the 'Roman Scotland: Life on the Edge of Empire' exhibition entrance on Level 3
• You will need to show your BSL tour ticket before the start of the tour.

Good to know

• This event is Deaf-led
• This tour will be delivered in British Sign Language only
• If you require an English voiceover or support with hands-on signing please let us know by emailing communities@nms.ac.uk at least six weeks before the tour. 

Following this tour, at 14:00–15:30 on Saturday 3 April there will be BSL interpretation available during our afternoon talk, In Conversation: Roman Impact on Scotland with Greg Jenner (event ticketed separately).
