Woman or man's jacket knitted in red silk and gilt metal threads, low neckline, centre front fastening with eyelets, full-length sleeves. Front and back of body and centre of sleeves with a pattern of red floral sprigs in red against gold. Upper and lower sleeves with horizontal bands of red. Skirt of body in red textured with a cheque pattern: Italian, probably Venetian, 17th century
