Armchair

Description

Armchair in the 'Glastonbury' style, with carved back and arms,and x-frame legs, the back design centred on a six point star and both back and arms bearing carved inscriptions. The exterior surface of each arm is painted in red beneath the plane of the carving. There is a red velvet squab cushion associated with the chair. Presented to Alice Boyd by William Bell Scott in 1860. From Penkill Castle, Ayrshire.
