Dagger hilt of Indian origin, acquired by Colonel Charles Seton Guthrie, Bengal Engineers, c. 1820s - 1850s while on service in India. Purchased by the museum when Guthrie’s collection was auctioned in London by Christie, Manson and Woods (now Christies) in 1875 after his death
