Fukusa

Description

Pale blue satin fukusa (gift cover) with embroidered design of the Treasure Ship (takarabune), with a phoenix depicted at the prow of the ship, a crane flying ahead, and a turtle swimming in the sea, embroidered in gold-wrapped thread, green, pink and black silk backed with red silk crepe with a tassel in each corner, one detached: Japan, late Edo period, 1801 - 1867
