Goblet

Description

Glass goblet wheel-engraved with a portrait of Frederick I, King in Prussia (1657-1713) surmounted by an eagle, and above the monogram FR, surrounded by trophies, figures of peace and war, the back engraved with a crowned wreath and flanked by the inscription 'Aspice et inspice' (Look and prerceive) and putti above a single-headed eagle: German, engraving attributed to Johann Wolfgang Schmidt of Nuremberg, c. 1701
