Inkwell

Description

Circular brass and copper inkwell probably designed by John Leighton (1822-1912), and manufactured by Elkington & Co. and probably intended as a souvenir of the Great Exhibition of 1851. Decoration depicts different aspects of industry including raw materials, business, retailing, manufactures and art products, with a globe shaped vessel for ink. British, 1851.
