National Museums Scotland has strong research connections in China, particularly in palaeobiology.

We recently welcomed colleagues from the Institute of Vertebrate Palaeontology and Palaeoanthropology (IVPP) who completed fieldwork on the Isle of Skye comparing fossils between China and Scotland.

We hope to develop joint projects in future years with IVPP and other related institutions in China, in support of both the Scotland/China and UK/China Cultural Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).
