We recently undertook a major national review of the collections from the Pacific region in museums across Scotland, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund.

This major project resulted in rich, new information on the relationships and links between Scotland and the Pacific, which we continue to cultivate and have been widely disseminated, particularly through European research networks. The project review can be found here.

Highlights from our Pacific collection can be seen in the Facing the Sea galley at the National Museum of Scotland,  the only gallery in the UK dedicated to the cultures of the South Pacific.
