Our collections, experts and practice have always linked us with other museums and collections across Scotland. We are always working with other Scottish museums on partnership projects that can raise the profile of long-term preservation and engagement with collections nationally.

Here are some examples of current national projects, involving partner museums across Scotland.

Ancient Egypt and East Asia National Programme

The Ancient Egypt and East Asia National Programme was a two year project working with partner museums across Scotland to discover and reveal new and interesting stories about their ancient Egyptian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean collections.

Powering Up Schools Science Outreach

Powering Up was a schools and communities science outreach project funded by the ScottishPower Foundation.Between 2017 and 2020 we worked with primary schools, families and communities in Midlothian, South Lanarkshire, Perth & Kinross, North Ayrshire and West Dunbartonshire to take science engagement to them.

Natural Science Collections Across Scotland

Until March 2021 we will be working with museums across Scotland to increase engagement with natural science collections, with generous funding from the John Ellerman Foundation.
