Revealing Stories is a programme of activity supported by the Museums Association’s Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund to complement and build upon the Ancient Egypt and East Asia National Programme. It will increase opportunities to engage with ancient Egyptian and East Asian collections across Scotland’s museums.

With this funding, we will undertake two national collections reviews. For ancient Egypt, we hope to highlight the significant objects and the connections between collections of different Scottish Museums. For East Asia, where less is known about the breadth and depth of collections, we hope to create a comprehensive listing of collections held across Scotland.

Revealing Stories gives us the opportunity to work with young people and individuals with additional support needs at a national level. It will also allow us to work more extensively with our museum partners, delivering more training around working with different audiences and with these collections and design a toolkit to help us measure the social impact of our activities.
