The Magic Kiss hang glider was first produced in 1989. That year pilots flying them won the European and World Hang Gliding Championships. The Magic Kiss quickly became a standard hang gliding club aircraft.

Airwave Gliders Ltd was established on the Isle of Wight in 1979 to produce licence-built versions of the Ultralite Comet hang glider from the USA. Airwave developed its own copy, called the Magic. The Magic Kiss was a development of the Airwave Magic.

This Magic Kiss was used by a hang glider pilot from Biggar in Lanarkshire for several years. He flew it in several hang gliding competitions and became European Champion.
