The Hive

Find out about our beehive and hands-on bee area.

Working with Plan Bee, we have our own beehive.

The hive is a welcome addition to the site and will carry out the vital role of pollination of our crops on the farm, flowers in our species-rich wildflower Coronation Meadow and natural flora at the museum and local area. As part of this project, we have planted native Scottish wildflower seeds and encouraged visitors to make their own wildflower seed bombs.

There's also a space in the museum to learn all about the importance of pollinators, dress-up as a beekeeper, try some 'waggle dancing' or brush up with some bee books.
