Sow the seeds of curiosity with a visit to our museum and historic working farm.

1. Become a Garden Detective

Take a larger-than-life look at plants and flowers, learn fascinating facts about nature and experience the sounds and smells of a real garden – all without getting your hands dirty! 

2. Be the bee's knees

Dress up and try a waggle-dance in our bee area and test your knowledge with our bee books, as you find out why our small stripy friends are so important.

3. All aboard the Farm Explorer

Take a ride on our Farm Explorer tractor-trailer and travel to our working farm in style, enjoying the sights as you go.

4. Time travel to the 1950s

Step into the farmhouse and you'll step back into the olden days! You can even dress up in a 1950s outfit so you look the part.

5. Try milking a cow

No, not a real cow! Myrtle the model cow promises to stand still while you try your hand at milking. How much will you get in the bucket?

6. Meet Sooty the farm cat

Sooty is the farm's resident moggy, she's friendly and welcomes visitors to the farm. You'll find her patrolling the farmyard or sleeping in the sun.

7. Make friends on the farm

Meet cows, pigs, horses, sheep and hens on our friendly working farm. Come in the spring for a cute overload – this is when our calves, piglets and lambs arrive!

8. Spot the scarecrow

Our scarecrow frightens birds away so they don't eat the seeds and plants in the farm's kitchen garden. Look out for him on your visit and see what's growing in the garden.

9. Watch out for wildlife

As well as our farm animals, the fields are full of wild creatures. Can you spot a hare or a fox? A mouse or squirrel? A kestrel or a sparrowhawk? Or maybe some beautiful butterflies?

10. Get in the swing

End your day with the wind in your hair has you have fun in our outdoor play area. On a sunny day, this is also the perfect place for a picnic.
