To celebrate the display of Tim Peake's Spacecraft at the Museum, we've got two weeks of space-themed activities where you can meet some experts, handle real Space objects and be wowed by demos.

Visit the Cosmos Planetarium to enjoy a fantastic and fully immersive show all about Tim Peake’s Space mission. Join in the countdown and blast off to the International Space Station!

Dynamic Earth ‘Destination Space’ Show (age 6+)

Free, ticketed (suitable for age 6+ with an accompanying adult)
Auditorium, Level 1

Join Dynamic Earth staff on an adventure to the International Space Station! With expert help, prepare for travelling to and living in Space, before returning safely to the ground. A fantastic chance to experience life in orbit through a series of exciting challenges!

All audience members will require their own ticket, adults and children.

Daily activities for families to enjoy, including dressing up science demos and simple crafts - come along and see what’s happening.

Glasgow Science Centre demos

We’ve got our friends from Glasgow Science Centre joining us for the week, bringing some fab Space demos with them. A great addition to our Camp!

Edinburgh International Science Festival – Turn that Frown Upside Down

Mon 23 – Wed 25, 11:00-16:00 drop-in (suitable for age 8+)

Practice writing your name or hitting a target with a beanbag, all while lying upside-down on an inversion table - your focus will be pushed to the limit! A fun and challenging drop-in activity that’s great to take part in and to watch!

The Royal Observatory Edinburgh

Thu 26 – Fri 27, 11:00-16:00 drop-in

Come along to see some fascinating pieces related to the James Webb telescope and some examples and models of Space tech. An opportunity not to be missed!
