Frequently Asked Questions

• How long do sessions last and can I leave if my child is restless?

Magic Carpet Wednesday sessions for 2-4 years last around 25-30 mins. You are welcome to leave when you want during the session or wander to the toilet and come back.

• How strict are the age ranges and can I attend any session with my child?

The age ranges are guidelines for you to choose which session is most suitable for your child. Our team design the activities based on different developmental stages. A baby might enjoy the songs in one of the older sessions but wouldn’t necessarily be able to do some of the story actions or crafts. Likewise, a toddler may get bored in the younger sessions and become restless. Due to high demand, we greatly appreciate people only taking a place on the sessions that are suitable. If you have two children of different ages we recommend coming to the sessions geared more towards the elder child.

• I see a session underway but I haven’t signed up – can I just come and join in?

Unfortunately not - normally we are completely full up and will have turned people before you away.

• I want to sign up on the day – what time should I arrive?

Sometimes there is a queue outside from 09:30; sometimes it’s a lot quieter. To be in with the best chance of a place we suggest you aim to be there when the doors open at 10:00.

• If I sign up on the day can I also sign up my friends?

No, we can only sign up those who are physically present otherwise it’s not fair for the people in the queue behind you.

• Any other Magic Carpet rules?

In order to protect our carpet and the gallery areas nearby we ask you not to eat or drink on the carpet and to take your shoes off before sitting down.
