An event for young musicians and those who want to work in the music industry, Off The Record is open to anyone aged 16 - 25.

Key figures from the music industry will lead seminars, discussions and workshops all aimed at demystifying the industry and providing the knowledge to kickstart a career in music.

The admission fee includes lunch, access to the Off The Record evening showcase in Edinburgh and an online discount code for the Rip It Up: The Story of Scottish Pop exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland.

Topics include:

  • Collection Societies
  • Releasing Music
  • Music Streaming
  • Working In Music
  • Songwriting and Craft
  • Getting and Organising Gigs
  • Music Publishing.

Some of the above topics will be covered in smaller breakout sessions at the event which will require ticket holders to sign up in order to attend. These will be made available on a first come, first served basis and details on sessions as well as how to sign up for them will be available in the coming weeks.
