Find out about important recent acquisitions to our Museum's Fashion and Textiles collection – and discover the different ways of collecting.

From the recent donation of a 1930s wedding dress ensemble and purchase of 1950s haute couture cocktail dresses at auction, to a cutting-edge fashion commission for the Fashion & Style gallery, the museum collects objects in different ways.

Lisa Mason, Assistant Curator of Modern & Contemporary Fashion & Textiles will discuss the donation of the wedding dress ensemble before Georgina Ripley, Senior Curator of Modern & Contemporary Fashion & Textiles describes the purchase of haute couture at auction. Lisa and Georgina will then be joined by Lorn Jean. Lorn is the designer and maker of a new contemporary loan which will be on show in the Cutting Edge section of the Fashion & Style gallery.
