Dr Laura N Young, MBE
Laura is a project consultant and company director and serves as Chair of Trustees for Clocktime Charity, whilst also supporting others in their professional development as a qualified executive coach. She began her career 30 years ago at the Science Museum and remains a committed advocate for museums, galleries and intangible cultural heritage with an interest in textiles, particularly early 20th century expedition clothing.
Laura is a Guild Fellow at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge and received an Honorary Doctorate from Queen Margaret University in 2015. In 2016 she was appointed MBE in recognition of services to children with health conditions through her work in leading Teapot Trust. She became Chair of Trustees for Clocktime Charity in 2024.
She is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Society of Arts.
Laura was appointed a Trustee of National Museums Scotland in October 2018; her second term runs until September 2026.
