About Eco Detectives

Join our Learning team to explore four Scottish ecosystems through real museum specimens, quizzes, and digital microscopy.

Pupils will analyse clues, examine wildlife evidence up close and investigate a mystery poo to identify the animal behind it.

What will my pupils do in the session?

Pupils will:

Explore four Scottish ecosystems
Investigate real museum specimens from each habitat
Examine microscopic details using digital microscopy
Use evidence and observation skills to identify species
Solve a wildlife mystery using scientific enquiry and teamwork.

It was interactive, informative and was great for getting the children to think more locally about ecosystems. The children were engaged and loved to see the skulls and the insects etc, up close under the microscope.
